My personal opinion on the top 8 flight scenes from movies featuring military jets.
I originally wanted to make this into a top 10 YouTube clip, but am too lazy to cut it, and don't have clips from all movies. So I posted it here, feel free to reply with what your list would be.

#1: good plot, very good flight sequences
Top Gun (1986)

#2: okay plot, impressive flight sequences
Les Chevaliers du Ciel (2005) - A french movie

#3: good plot, okay flight sequences, realistic SAMs
Flight of the Intruder (1991)

#4: super plot, good flight sequences
The Right Stuff (1983)

#5: super nice plot, somewhat okay flight sequences, unrealistic planes
Firefox (1982)

#6: okay plot, nice but too short flight sequences, unrealistic SAMs
Behind Enemy Lines (2001)

#7: Good movie
The final countdown (1980)

#8: very nice simulated air combat scene
Älskar, älskar inte (1995) - A Swedish movie

--- Movies that didn't make the top 8:

#1&2: filmed using small remote controlled aircrafts, ridiculous bad air combat sequences
Iron Eagle 1986
Iron Eagle II 1988

#3&4: Making a 3 and 4 of such bad movies is just plain silly
Aces: Iron Eagle III 1992
Iron Eagle on the Attack 1995

#5,6&7: Almost completely computer-generated combat flight scenes, not worth watching
알투비: 리턴투베이스 aka. R2B: Return to Base aka. Soar Into The Sun aka. Black Eagle (2012) - A south Korean movie
殲十出擊 - Jiān shí chūjí aka. Sky Fighters (2011) - A Chinese movie
Stealth (2005)

#8: Too old
Jet pilot (1957)

#9,10: Too unrealistic to enter the competition:
True lies (1994)
Independence Day (1996)

Have to watch, not rated yet:
Steal the sky (1988)
Red Flag: The Ultimate Game (1981)

Red tails is a nice one.
It's about the Tuskegee Airmen during WWII. Pretty nice P-51s in that film.
Consider also Apocalypse Now, Battle of Britain and let's not forget Harrison Ford and his Air Force One ;) .

Yes, I forgot the final countdown, will add it to the list.

Movies about propeller planes or helis don't count, otherwise it would be a top 100.

Airforce one is about a 747, right, so that dont count either.
