The 4 fighter aircraft has changed. This is the changes:

Anti-cheat code
The F14, F15 and JA37 now has anti-cheat code. The Mirage will get it also before the next event.

On the Viggen and F14 the cheat code will only run when you have MP chat hit msg. enabled. Since there is no such button on F15 yet, it will therefore be on all the time, sorry about that.

Repairing, refueling, rearming on the runway will not trigger the anti-cheat system. Opening the failure menu or player-list will however, also if you do so before you enter MP.

For most of the messages, you will have to restart FG to remove them. For some like have terrain mask off or damage off in the Viggen, you can just enable it and the message will not get repeated.

But please try it out, and report back if you find issues.

Missiles
Small improvement to hitting aircraft that are at a steep elevation to the missiles.

Damage messages off
The red failure condition messages has been turned off. As it is more realistic not to know precisely how your aircraft was damaged. Before you complain about this then remember that its also off to your enemy, so you are on equal footing.

Well, almost, some failures will be shown in the Viggens indicator light, like electrical, hydraulic, hud and a couple more. But then also remember that the Viggen has twice the number of failure systems that can be damaged, so I think it equals out.

As a compensation, you will now hear an small explosion sound when a missile hits you. Plus you will still see the hit distance message of cause.

Auto-repair
When you relocate to a new airport, your aircraft is now auto-repaired, and the anti-cheat system will not complain about this.

If you do a manual repair after having crashed and before you relocate, the system will pick that up and complain.

Damage off
On the F14 you can disable the damage system, by disabling the MP chat hit msgs. Just like it works on the Mirage. Nice for when flying in KSFO area with people with trigger fingers.

Would it be possible for some of the anticheat messages (for example timewarp) time out after about 10 minutes? Some of them are not very relevant for such long times.

Also, cheaters may simply turn MP shot report off while doing something cheaty. Does that affect anything?

I'd prefer it if they didn't. If you're in an op and you did something to make a message appear, just respawn. It's the fair way to do things and you are held responsible for your actions.

And no. When they turn on reporting it will notify us. So it's a non issue.
Also, if someone wants to cheat that bad they can just modify the code. There's literally no way to prevent cheating if someone is dedicated enough.

All understood and accepted. In general, I actually do like the anticheat features. I would certainly far prefer them to nothing.

The 4 fighters has been updated. Note this is NOT the last change before the event. But please use these to test everything works before the final upload on Thursday evening.

F14/F15

Now should be able to refuel from tanker, without the anti-cheat system think foul play is involved. (Thanks to Richard)

Sometimes the damage/hit msgs. would disable themselves due to the property not being proper initialized, its fixed now.

Fix for aim-7 would not snap up to altitude properly.

Better drag more fitting for missiles.

The key 'a' will no longer provoke the anti-cheat system on the F-14.

Mirage

Fix for some missiles would not snap up.

Viggen

Fix for RB-71 missiles would not snap up.

This is the changes that was made today and before the event:

Fixed that when the missile lost guiding, the target would also not be updated anymore.
After lofting/cruising the missile now rotates towards target before APN sets in.
Guarded against a trigonometry error in missile code.
Better missile time keeping for closing rates.
Lofted missiles will now start to drop 10 miles from target.
{Pinto} Optimization of radar terrain mask code.
Bigger FOV for AIM-120.

Made the missile code more performance optimized, and made energy bleed due to G-load.

Thanks so much. I appreciate all missile realism improvements.

By the way, how does the current flare system work? I saw something about it earlier in the Viggen changelog but do not know how well it represents the current system.

Also, is the RB-24J in flightgear actually rear-aspect only?

The flare system only works against RB-24J or RB-74. At front aspect bigger chance that the missile gets fooled by the flare.

The RB-24J is rear aspect, yes. The bigger the aspect is away from good view of engine, the lesser chance it can keep lock.

There is now miss messages in all fighters, like the Mirage used to have when missiles don't hit. No more evading for 3 minutes phantom missiles.

Also the new F15 liveries has been put in.

How would a pilot in real life determine that a missile has missed?

Concerning miss detection, I assume it happens when the missile-target distance starts to increase. Is this (or whatever it actually is) a good indication of a miss?

Regardless of the above, you've convinced me to update.

A data-link with the missile would tell you that. If that would work for all types of missiles, like also the AIM-9 I wouldn't know. If the Viggen had it I also do not know, that stuff might still be classified.

You are correct. And I think its a fairly good indication, yes.

The AIM 9 gets a data link with X Block II. Our AIM 9s don't fly far enough to need one... in the real world, we would see their results.

Due to popular demand, the aim-120/RB99 now have longer sustain to better hit fleeing target.

The AI viggen has been updated, that should help with lag when flying close to Viggens.

The mirage can now hit ground targets.

SCALP versus ships at 160nm...

Have fun, North Korea.

How do our aircraft compare in range and in combat radius? Please note that the central tank must be removed to fit SCALP. Perhaps the fighter comparison can be updated to compare range armament, and maximum speed as well.
