  • Every rule other than the age limit, restrictions regarding engaging civilians, and not intentionally crashing other players, may be over-ridden by event planners and/or administrators. In the event of a disagreement between event planners and administrators, the administrators have the final say.
  • OPRF members and event participants must be age 14 or older. This requirement may be modified at an administrator's discretion.
  • Do not intentionally crash other players by using planes that are prone to crash FlightGear over mp. Accidental crashes are okay, but if it is repeatable and prevents others from joining an event, then pick another plane.
  • No engaging non-players or civilian aircraft. Be polite, courteous, and respectful of their desire not to participate in our challenges. Exception: When protecting controlled airspace, at the request of a tower controller, it is ok to engage hostile military aircraft if they are threatening civilian aviators.
  • Participants must use damage-modeled aircraft. No personal mods to damage, weapons, avionics or other systems that can affect the fairness of the sim are allowed.
  • NO FUEL FREEZE. You must manage your fuel not only for the fight, but also for the trip home. Waste all your fuel flying around, and no burners for your run back to base! Makes the strategy more interesting!
  • No "quitting" to quickly get home to reload. Honor system here, as we all know how FG can crash. However, people will notice if you always seem to "crash" after you use all your weapons. Go home, reload, rejoin the fight.
  • Air-to-air and carrier refueling is allowed, but you are not safe while doing so. Do it at your own risk. You are only safe when on the ground at your home base or auxiliary field. Notice refueling at AI tanker is allowed unless default logistics rules are in effect.
  • You should avoid joining MP until you are ready to launch, but must join before you are wheels up.
  • Pilot list, any form of mpmap, Equipment Menu->Map (regular, canvas, or Phi/http), or any other external map which can show the location of other aircraft in an unrealistic and unfair manner are not allowed. Only in-plane radars that have terrain hiding enabled are allowed. Use of OpenRadar, atcPie, or any other ATC program which does not take terrain into account are not allowed.
  • A hit is a hit, even if FG crashed and you were stuck suspended in the air.
  • A/A missiles are to be used for A/A only. Even if you can get a lock on a ground target with an AIM-120, using it as an A/G is not allowed. This is only for ground targets, such as the depot, a ship, or a SAM. This does not extend to aircraft on the ground.
  • If your plane has those options these MUST be enabled: Radar terrain masking, Doppler radar, Damage enabled, MP chat msg enabled.
  • Live weather and clock time; exceptions can be granted by event organizers or administrators.
  • If the default logistics rules are not in effect, you may rearm at any military airport. This includes airports that are not officially in the event.
  • No repairing, rearm or switching off/on multiplay when flying.
  • No ctrl-u or time-warping.
  • If your aircraft bounce on terrain, you must consider that as having crashed.

Maybe these rules should be updated to reflect the current nature of our group. Specifically, many of the items in the list appear to be event-specific and variable rather than broad rules constantly applicable to the community.

Rules updates:

New rule:
  • Every rule other than the age limit, restrictions regarding engaging civilians, and not intentionally crashing other players, may be over-ridden by event planners and/or administrators. In the event of a disagreement between event planners and administrators, the administrators have the final say.

New rule:
  • OPRF members and event participants must be age 14 or older. This requirement may be modified at an administrator's discretion.

New rule:
  • Do not intentionally crash other players by using planes that are prone to crash FlightGear over mp. Accidental crashes are okay, but if it is repeatable and prevents others from joining an event, then pick another plane.

Removed rule:
removed as was event specific and not applicable to every scenario
  • Splashed aircraft may respawn at either their primary or ancillary field. This allows you some strategy options and also prevents camping to a certain degree.

Modified rule:
old:
  • Air-to-air and carrier refueling is allowed.... but you are not safe while doing so... so do it at your own risk. You are only safe when on the ground at your home base or auxiliary field. Notice refueling at AI tanker is allowed.

Modified rule:
old:
  • Any maps/radar/etc are allowed to be used, except pilot-list. Consider it like having an AWACS in the air supporting your team, and an AOC providing/analyzing real-time battle info and passing it to warfighters.

new:
  • Pilot list, any form of mpmap, Equipment Menu->Map (regular, canvas, or Phi/http), or any other external map which can show the location of other aircraft in an unrealistic and unfair manner are not allowed. Modified rule:
old:
  • It is allowed to shoot aircrafts on the ground if your radar can get a lock on them.

A website with US Military Bases worldwide to comply with refuel and rearming at Military bases, even though not included in an event

http://www.militaryinstallations.dod.mil/MOS/f?p=132:3:::NO::P3_SERVICE,P3_VAL:USAF,MI

https://militarybases.com/

Best I've found so far for USAF Bases worldwide, may help some folks to organise a strategy for re-arm and re-fueling!
